Hot Sake - Food News You Can Use

2006_03_food_Hot Sake2.jpg- Tomatoes and watermelon together, really? One blogger thinks yes really. Just add it to the list of things to try sometime.

- A big week for animal slaughtering, insight from SauteWednesday and Gordon Ramsay.

- Speaking of Ramsay, we are damn glad Heather won last night on Hell's Kitchen; that challenge-winning streak by Virginia was odd by any measure.

- Mmmmm….BLT’s. Do you think that the lettuce is superfluous in this classic?

- A enjoyable read chock full of California wine observations from Eric Asimov.

Virginia should have won. I'd rather dine at a restaurant with a chef that has an incredible palate than at a place where the chef is known for leadership. Terrible decision.

Gotta have crunchy iceberg lettuce with a blt and tons of mayo.

  • Guess y'all missed it -- we posted it in Tidbits yesterday.

yeah, what's up with ignoring the huge Shake Shack news? I'm curious to hear how they're going to handle it, as so many aspects of the case seem unique to serving food from a glorified shack in a park with no other facilities (as Danny Meyer suggested in his response). Is this the first time a park concession has gotten in trouble for having no restroom, for instance? Whose responsibility is that, Meyer's or the parks dept.? I assume Gothamist is out investigating the scene right now -- maybe that explains the silence ...

Yay Heather!!! She deserved to win.

We could've used the news about the turds in Shake Shack - but you're in their pocket with the pickle fries aren't you?
