Last Night's Action: The Mets Keep Rolling

-Mets 3 Nationals 1: New York couldn’t break through against Washington starter, Tony Armas, Jr., but scored single runs off of the Nationals’ bullpen in the seventh, eighth and ninth for the victory. Michael Tucker homered on the first pitch he saw in the eighth to break the tie and Billy Wagner took over for Darren Oliver and got his 28th save of the season.

-Angels 5 Yankees 3: New York became the latest team to fall victim to rookie-sensation, Jered Weaver. Weaver, whose older-brother was run out of town in a trade for Kevin Brown, improved to 8-0 with a six-inning, eight-strikeout performance. The Yankee loss coupled with a Boston win leaves them with only a one-game lead in the division.

-Liberty 93 Mystics 81: Lousy basketball has become a staple at MSG, no matter what the gender of the players, but at least the Liberty completed an 11-23 season with a winning streak. Their .324 winning percentage was also .060 points higher than that of the Knicks.

-Batavia 6 Brooklyn 1: The Cyclones left their defense in the locker room, committing three big errors in the loss.

Jamestown 4 Staten Island 3: The Baby Bombers rallied in the ninth, but they couldn’t push across the tying run.
