READINGS: Jennifer Paddock will be at the Borders to read from her sophomore novel, Point Clear, which follows a young writer, Caroline, as she leaves her MFA program and seeks out stories in the devastated wake of Hurricane Ivan. Paddock combines her story with Caroline's writing, which is an interesting technique, if not a little meta. - Krissa Corbett Cavouras

7 PM // Borders [461 Park Ave at 57th St] // Free

THEATER: "Hilarious" and "edgy" may not seem like adjectives one could ever use in describing a show that takes the book of Genesis as its jumping-off point, no matter how imaginative one's publicity tactics. But it's just possible that Creation: A Clown Show, a solo performance by Lucas Caleb Rooney that aims to follow in the footsteps of Slava's Snowshow, as well as renowned clowns like Harpo Marx and Bill Irwin, will live up to those advance descriptions and attract people of all ages and backgrounds. Find out for yourself when it opens tonight. - Mallory Jensen

Through Sept. 10, Mon. & Wed.-Sat. 7pm, Sat. & Sun. 2pm // Theater 5 [311 W 43rd St, 5th floor] // Tickets via Smarttix

MOVIE:A small town girl in love with a small-time bank robber...you know how it goes. Follow Bonnie & Clyde (Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty) as they make headlines as Depression era gangsters...maybe the hipster Bonnie & Clyde will be there taking notes.

6pm for music, sundown for movie // Empire-Fulton Ferry State Park [1 Main St, Brooklyn] // Free

2006_08_arts_b52.JPGMUSIC: Tonight at the Seaside Summer Concert Series the B-52s perform! Love Shack, baby. Yeah.

7:30pm // Asser Levy/Seaside Park, Coney Island // Free

Meanwhile over at Irving Plaza, The Church plays tonight. Over 25 years of great music and all we can think of is that scene from Donnie Darko when "Under the Milky Way" plays.

8pm // Irving Plaza [17 Irving Place] // $35

  • My bad and good catch. The former wasn't a remake. Neither was the latter, although it was later remade with Baldwin and Basinger.

  • anomalous

"Bonnie and Clyde" was a remake? Of what?

  • This may be heretical, but I didn't think Dunaway and Beatty were that good in the remake. A better remake of a different heist movie was MacGraw and McQueen in The Getaway. Now that shit was hardboiled!
