Facts are facts, Noles. Politics is zero-sum. And it ain't beanbag, as a prominent Republican used to say.

I'm just dissapointed that Lieberman (who I voted for in '00, big surprise, and who I alwasy sort of liked) is reacting this way. Anger is not an appealing trait on TV. If he had accepted what happened, endorsed the guy who beat him, it would widen Lamont's appeal beyond the blog crowd. As it is, Lamont will still probably win because Joe has become so unappealing and the Republican in the race is an empty suit.

Fox newsbites are here.
Let's all hear it for Fox News blurbs.
Lamont will Kick Arse cum November.
and, with Bloomberg backing Lyberman, it's a shoe in.

"No one loves a loser, especially an angry one." Congrats Tim, you just described the entire Democratic party. Especially the fruitcakes who backed the empty suit Lamont. The general election is a much different kettle of fish than a primary where the Kos crazies can have an impact. But I may have to root for Ned. The George McGovern wing of the party is so much more entertaining.

anyone who likes mike bloomberg usually can't explain why, or if they try, theyre really vague

mike doesnt know anything about how government runs, or about policy. he likely cant give any solid details why he likes lieberman. sort of like the people who like bloomberg: its all based on a gut feeling

heres a tiny reason why I DONT like mike:

Text of Mayor Bloomberg's Speech at the RNC, 2004

I want to thank President Bush for supporting New York City and changing the homeland security funding formula and for leading the global war on terrorism.

(APPLAUSE)

The president deserves our support.

(APPLAUSE)

We are here to support him.

(APPLAUSE)

And I am here to support him.

(APPLAUSE)

By all means Mayor Mike, please do toss some cash at that pathetic loser and embittered Bush-kissin' whiner who just pulled off a statistical miracle; he lost as long-term incumbent! Congrats Joe, that takes some hard work! Mayor Mike, get out your wallet; you won't miss the cash and we won't miss Joe when he sinks into oblivion as a well paid tool of some obnoxious lobby.

Today, Joe's only support comes from Republicans like you Mayor Mike and that's as it should be. Now Joe can come out of the closet, and so can you Mayor Mike, as the cold hearted, authoritarian, Big-money servin' republicans you've always been ashamed to be. All you Lieber-fans: jump on board and feel the "Joenertia."

Shame on Lieberman for neglecting his constituants.
Don't worry, no one wants a "holiday" card from him, it's the death card.

I like Mike Bloomberg. Bravo to him for supporting Joe Lieberman.

And shame on the Democrats who supported Lieberman coming in and now back Lamont - I hope they're off the Lieberman Holiday Card list.

He lost twice.
And, he's a sore loser. Now the world sees his true colors.
And, bloomberg? Go ahead, campaign for him, let the sideshow begin.

While most recent polls show Sen. Lieberman could win as an independent against Mr. Lamont, what they are probably measuring is his name recognition. As the campaign continues and as Bush & Cheney identify themselves with Sen. Lieberman's effort, those Democrats, independents and Republican who want to say "no" to the Bush agenda will say no to Sen. Lieberman, too.

Mayor Bloomberg's cash, however, could help Sen. Lieberman a lot.

Predictions: Lieberman will win as an independant.
Bloomberg, if he ever runs, will go as a Dem. The Dems will never ever ever win while still eating their own. The rest of the country is not lockstep with the tri-state area. Dem strategists need to travel a little bit. They like to talk about coups and revolts, but the map says almost everything: the geographical majority of the country think Dems are retards. Not that Republicans aren't retards; they are. Dems just strain themselves.
