THEATER: Baby Hippopotamus Productions' new comedy Weasel Erotica may sound like something you don't even want to know about, but fortunately the show probably won't live up to your fears, unless your fears are of a show that's unrepentantly, and delightfully, silly. Melissa Jo Talent directs a cast that includes her brothers King and Mo (collectively, the three are "The Talented Talent Brothers") in this farce in which a rare performing weasel is brought to a town's zoo for the purpose of raising money to save the zoo from an evil land developer; then the world's only flying weasel expert has to be hired too, and the game is on. - Mallory Jensen

Through Aug. 27, Fri. & Sat. 8pm, Sun. 3pm // Looking Glass Theatre [422 W. 57th St] // Tickets via Theatermania

The Spiegeltent opened up last night. Tonight at midnight you can catch Edison Woods, who (amongst other things) will sing his own version of "Falling in Love Again", performed by Marlene Dietrich in the same tent over 70 years ago.

Sunday make a day of it at the tent. Reverend Billy and the Church of Stop-Shopping are holding the first of their many tent revivals.

Why is there a PRETTY IN PINK one-sheet next to an item about SIXTEEN CANDLES (aside from the fact John Hughes wrote both films)? Oy.

Oh, and btw, Duckie wasn't in SIXTEEN CANDLES, he was in PRETTY IN PINK. Long Duk Dong was in SIXTEEN CANDLES.

Are we clear?

I checked out Reverend Billy and his choir on Sunday. If you're going to spend your Sunday in church, then the church of Rev billy in the spiegeltent is the way to do it. Wow! Let me tell you, they've got the FUNK! I mean, I've heard of Rev Billy before, but damn, this choir has got it going ON!
