Hooray for Windsor Terrace!

You could also try Cafe Habana's. It's good too!

I will give you guys like a thousand dollars to stop blowing up my spot.

Every street vendor in Chicago has these things. The worst part about them is that the non-optional mayo that they sell with it is always just sitting out in the sun waiting for whatever bacteria to cross its path.

I, for one, would never eat it, but the people who do manage to survive so whatever.

Your NYC version looks a bit more gormet than what we have here.

They also serve this at El Parador on 34th between 1st and 2nd. It's so good.

I'm popping in from dcist and have to say, you guys have it made up there! Elotes? Yum.

Elotes locos, what I call them and what you describe in your post, are delish but we don't have any restaurants or stands that sell them down here.

This scrumptious dish has also been offered at ACME on Great Jones, just off of Lafayette for several years now.

zach - same owners as habana = same recipe! plus, no need to put up with the nolita scene! yay.

"Some squirt mayonnaise on too, but that can be too heavy (and a little trashy)"
sounding pretty snobby there. in mexico they almost always do it with mayo.

Old summer made me sad.
But this look great.
I will go.

eh... I had some corn there the other day and it was UNDONE and not tasty.

Original location they know what they are doing, food @ the brooklyn location needs some attn to quality control

I agree max. The Original Cafe Habanna in Nolita prepares some AMAZING corn, plus you get two cobbs per order. And I think the cheese (or maybe they add a bit of mayo) is much thicker. The corn at Cafe Habana on Fulton is just blah. I would definitely check out the scene and grab a beer, but the food is totally not worth it.
