- After another night with finicky to no power, the lights on Staten Island seem to be back on, but with this new heat wave the question is "for how long?"
- One way to pitch in to prevent another round of massive power-outages is to try really hard to use as little power as possible: Turn off your AC and electronics when not at home, keep your thermostats no lower then 78, keep your shades down, etc. And while you are at it, it's hot out there so don't forget to keep hydrated!
- Speaking of the blackouts, Hillary Clinton visited Queens yesterday and wants it declared a disaster area...
- A worker was crushed to death yesterday after a garage in Queens collapsed.
- Hey, all you kids illegally studying in the States, help build a nice robot and you too might get politicians and lawyers to help you get a student visa! But seriously, good luck to you Mr. Ly.
- Corruption in Newark? Inconceivable!
- A Long Island couple who had been together 46 years died yesterday after they were both hit by a car while leaving a wedding rehearsal.
- The West Nile virus has poped up in Suffolk County.
- How pissed would you be if you worked for the Department of Education and they "forgot" to pay you?
- Finally, napping kittens the size of your hand make for really, really cute videos.

The DOE forgetting to pay nurses is completely ironic. When I quit working for the DOE in 2003, they kept sending me paychecks for 3 pay cycles.

I wonder how long it would've taken for them to realize it if I hadn't told them...
