We had to get into a taxi to go over the McCarren Pool yesterday. luckily, it's only about $12 from the east village, so if you are more than 1 person it's not too bad. piece of advice though - turning left onto Delancey from Essex was a pain in the arse. try to walk directly to delancey and get a cab there if you can. saves you time and $$$ on the fare.

i tried to get to mccarren pool yesterday for the pool party but was foiled by the MTA. no L train service between brooklyn and manhattan. i asked an mta officer how to get there from Union Square and for a second i thought i was in new england: "Yah can't get theah from heah." how so how am i supposed to get there next weekend since the MTA will still suck then as it does now? i've got tickets for the bloc party show on saturday!? plus there's the sunday of montreal concert i'm not planning to miss either. yay for partying like it's summer '05!!
