Stereogummed

Poor Scott! Earlier this morning, his go-to music blog, Stereogum, was hacked by someone who sounded like HAL 9000 from 2001! Right now Stereogum has a basic "Stereogum is currently unavailable due to essential maintenance" message on a white screen, but above is a screenshot of what it used to look like. Man, if it's not spam comments jamming up systems, it's this craziness.

Good luck, Stereogum!

    you're right, doot doot doot-

why don't those jerks realize that we get all the music news we need from the major labels? Coupled with relenteless email updates from Ticketmaster, who needs independent thought?

If only the hackers would do this to Pitchfork and Brooklyn Vegan as well.

The snippets are enticing. The new album is out 08/29.

  • Probably a script kiddie. Once root access (Assuming it is, might only be web server) is compromised, it's time to rebuild the box...

Considering how Gothamist loves graffitti, why is this considered "craziness"?

  • I was wondering what was up with that! Suck city
