PARTY: ABC No Rio is the 26 year old LES center for art and activism that has JUST received the title to their building. "Envisioned for the site is a multi-use community arts center with darkroom, silk-screen printing facility, small press resource center, computer center, expanded space for art, music, performance, educational and community activities, and meeting and office space."

EVENT: Jack the Pelican Presents X-Men Civil War Book Release. Since we're not that schooled on comics, from the site: "Artist Juan Doe follows up the [X-Men] series with an equally striking set of covers for X-Men: Civil War, one of the major tie-in titles to Marvels most seminal event of the year, Civil War." Original images will be on display for one night only!

Friday // 7pm // Jack the Pelican Presents [487 Driggs Ave, Williamsburg] // Free

THEATER: This weekend's gift from the theatre to the ADD-afflicted: the NY Collective for the Arts' Ten Minute Play Festival. Now in its third year, the fast-paced collection includes seven shows: Stephen Belber's Passive Belligerence, Ed Brownson's Denying Denny, Ian Grody's Lights Up Strangers, Jonathan Karp's Semi-Autobiographical, Brian Polak's Reverse Evolution, Cliff Swain's Invisible!, and the disturbingly titled Mutual Mastication by Justin Warner. It's the perfect way for the fidgety to ease into going to plays and such; perhaps the next stop will be a festival of one-acts, of which there always seems to be at least one in town. - Mallory Jensen
