EVENT: Help raise some money for the good fight with the Rude Mechanical Orchestra and Time's Up! Two long time allies are coming together to raise money and awareness for the environment. RMO is NYC's punk rock radical marching band and will lead the evening of music that includes Monkeyshine 9, Heavy Creatures, Quick Release and Phil Not Bombs. Also featuring DJ Suggested D's dance floor madness and the infamous blender bike.

Time's Up!'s has led campaigns to create a greenway that wraps around the city, bringing pedicabs to our streets, helping to save community gardens and more.

Donations via the Time's Up! website also welcome.

Friday // 8pm // 49 East Houston St. NYC // $7-10

THEATER: When it's this hot and sticky, even the sound of "physical theater" is kind of unpleasant, but at least it's the performers who sweat while you watch. With that in mind, check out Digging in the Dark, which starts previews tonight and in which San Francisco group Capacitor blends elements from circus, theater, interactive media and serious geophysics to take the audience on a journey to the Earth's fiery core; the show's inspiration was the centennial of San Francisco's massive 1906 quake. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the intense energy of aerial acrobatics, juggling, and partnering work -- from a more or less safe, air-conditioned distance. - Mallory Jensen

American Theatre of Actors [314 West 54th St] // Through July 30, Wed.-Sun. 8pm // Tickets via Theatermania

MOVIE: This weekends midnight movie is that classic "cartoon meets human" flick Who Framed Roger Rabbit? Wax nostalgic while real life and animation colllide on the big screen. We may go check it out since we can't remember who framed Roger Rabbit anyway. Probably that cartoon diva Jessica Rabbit.

Saturday // Midnight // Landmark Sunshine Cinema [143 E. Houston St] // $10.75

MUSIC: Tonight at Bowery The Avett Brothers, Nicole Atkins, O'Death take the stage. The latter is often praised by HeartOnAStick, which for us - may just be reason enough to go.

Friday // 8pm // Bowery Ballroom [6 Delancey St] // $20

Tomorrow, even if you told yourself last year you'd never go again, head over to Siren Festival to sweat out the week of toxins you've undoubtedly stored up. There will be bands, and hot dogs, and a long line for the Cyclone. Dress sparingly and bring a fan.

Saturday // 12pm to 9pm // Coney Island // Free

It's the same media that NEVER mentioned Muslims' hatred of Israel as a possible motive for 9/11.
