Dog Doo Plea Deal

2006_07_fakedogdoo.jpgFinally, some closure to a story we had been closely following. Earlier this year, 57 year old Joel Krupnik, threw dog poop at a teenager who didn't scoop after her dog. Krupnik was already in the public eye as he put a wacky Christmas display, complete with a Santa figure wielding a knife and decapitated doll's head (to deplore the commercialization of Christmas, of course), outside his house. So when it turned out that some Chihuahua droppings caused him to chase the 13 year old dog owner and toss the poop onto the girl's Catholic school uniform, reporters knew where to go. Krupnik admitted he threw the poop ("I'm tired of these people not picking up after their dogs. I took the mess and I rubbed it in her back.") and was duly charged. Yesterday he pleaded guilty, and these are the terms of his plea deal: 10 days of community service, mental health counseling, and $88 to buy the girl a new jacket. We doubt the community service will involve working with animals.

At any rate, we hope the lesson for all is that you should not leave your dog's poop on the sidewalk. You're walking your dog, you should know he/she will want to poop. Leaving animal poop out is a violation of the city health code!

Give me a break. Joel is a sack of poop! There is never ever a reason to throw dung at a 13 y.o. girl who is not your little sister. "These people" ? The lesson is Joel should move out of NYC because it seems to be too much for him to deal with.

Way to Go, JOE.
NYC needs REAL New Yorkers like you.
You're the real thing and Many understand your frustration. Dog shit on the sidewalk is never allowed. You white people and your dog fetish is disgusting. Opps, I meant "these People" and their dog fetish.

I'm so glad he's getting mental health counseling...

How unjust is it that he has to pay for his "crime" while she gets a new jacket? Maybe that'll encourage her to let her dog dump and not pick it up, when she's in the mood for a new jacket!

He should have rubbed in her face.
It would have saved him $88

No matter what your age, if you are not taking responsibility for your dog's poo, It should be rubbed in your face.
Some people need a strong wake up call.

Some woman let her dog take a huge dump in front of my building the other day and slowly started to walk away as if she had not seen it. When I confronted her about not picking up the poop, she looked shocked. She did pick it up though.

I think people need to confront the few irresponsible dog owners. But not necessarily like this. I also usually question someone's mental health if they are so irresonsible to act in such a selfish way as to leave dog poop on the street. Something is not right.

Dog poop leavers are probably the same people who I see open a pack of cigarettes on the street and proceed to throw the plastic and foil on the ground. As if it just vanishes by magic somehow.

Did the girl get fined or just a new jacket? Where's the justice?

I think this guy did the right thing. He could have rubbed it in her face, but I'm sure her jacket cleaned up quite nicely.

If she doesn't like poop on her jacket, she should understand that people don't like to walk in it outside their own homes.

Also, since when is it relevant that the girl's school uniform was Catholic? I thought they only let people join, but maybe the new Pope will baptize jackets too?

It's simple, the media totally wanted to make Joel the bad guy using every trick in the book.
OH, pool 13 year old catholic uniform girl.
OH, he hates Santa.
People who don't clean up after their dog deserve shit on them and more.

It was a vicarious thrill to read about this. I agree that dog poo leavers need to be confronted anywhere and everywhere.

Hopefully this will popularize the sweet vigilante justice of smearing dog shit on non-scoopers.
