likewise in Park Slope, all these frigging summer weekend street parties...... jeez.......... we get no notice of an upcoming street party... but when I go to get my car on a Saturday morning, I find it's been towed and I get a ticket....... Yours. Mr. Curmudgeon.

Spielberg uprooted quite a few blocks of cars during the filming of "War of the Worlds" in Park Slope. I know this first hand, as we had come out one early morning to find our car missing, and when calling the local precinct to report it, they quickly checked their WotW "relocation" sheet and told us were to find our car. Still, it would have been nice (and saved a half hour of unnecessary stress) if they had posted signs around the blocks after the shoot, saying that if you car was missing it was probably relocated (with a number to call to boot).

"Jumper" is a new Doug Liman film about a boy's ability to transport at will. Supposedly, it's going to be a trilogy, and it's going to be amazing. They also had fake snow lined off of 43rd and 5th.

i saw fake snow near city hall at the same time spiderman 3 was filming, looked just like that, the production assistants said they were filming a movie called "jumper", not spiderman3

They should also start eliminating parking permits for many city employees that do not require them to drive in order to do their jobs. Many 100% office workers for the government receive a FREE parking permit despite no need for it other than convenience. It's time our government officials traveled to work the same way that most of the rest of us do - by mass transit or walking.
