What I want to know is, what can I do with potatoes and a mandoline. I just got a mandoline and I'm having the urge to slice things thinly.

the absolute best thing to do with new potatoes is to make Salt Potatoes (it's a thing at clam bakes in upstate ny)
take a big pot of water, super-salinate the water so that it taste like the sea
plop in your scrubbed new potates (preferably red) and cook until fork tender
dump gently into a collanger, the salt will form a lovely coating
serve with drawn butter
DELICIOUS!
