i think the ugly monstrocities are the projects in the back. This building isn't perfect but it is still awesome. The switch building on the other hand does not look anything like its renderings. GAY!

Blue looks wonderful. It is innovative and cheerful and will be a big lift to the LES. My grandmother would be proud of what has happened to her neighborhood!

I think the building height limit has to do with the ability of the ground to hold the weight properly. The bedrock in different parts of Manhattan has different thicknesses.

are you seriously suggesting that buildings in the east village should not raise above 7 stories? Or am i confused and reading prince edward islandist?

The building would be fine if it's height were cut in half. Whoever the council person is that is letting these get approved needs to be bounced out of office. It's my recollection that the east village used to be zoned so that buildings could be no taller than 7 stories or so. I'll have to bone up before the next election day to see who's responsible for this.

Don't you wish those projects in the background would disappear? HA, you wish. No Can do, they were here before the bars on Ludlow. though those co-ops with the terrances are worth money. (just did a renovation for one) If you're there, don't forget to get some bialys.
