This Auction is Insaaane

2006_06_crazyeddie.jpgHoly cow - the Daily News reports that the trademark and Internet domain for Crazy Eddie's is for sale. On eBay. And while the News notes its bid was at $16,100, it's now at $16,300. The company that owns the trademark and domain wants $800,000, which would be a truly insaaaane price. If you go to crazyeddie.com, you'll find out info about the auction, classic Crazy Eddie commercials, and the history of Crazy Eddie. And we had never seen that really long Saturday Night Fever-inspired commercial (Crazy Eddie Fever)! That was what has been missing from our life!

Wikipedia on Crazy Eddie and the Crazy Eddie Tribute page. And last year, Joe Schumacher wrote a brilliant weather post invoking the spirit of Crazy Eddie.

This rocks. in fact..

it is INNSAANNNE..

If they had held off a little over a month, they could have held this sale as "CHRISTMAS IN AUGUST!!"

I bought my first boombox at Crazy Eddie's, a dual-tapedeck machine that finally allowed me to make mixes from other tapes. Awesomeness ensued.
