Quick Hits: Coney Island Style

2006_06_coneykid.jpg

- Cliff Floyd has come back to New York and is playing baseball. He's just playing in Brooklyn and not Queens. The Mets right fielder is making a rehab start for the Cyclones tonight in Coney Island. Maybe the presence of a Major Leaguer will help the Cyclones win their 2nd game of the season. The Mets' single-A affiliate finally broke through last night in a 4-0 win against the Hudson Valley Renegades. Tickets are still available for the 7 p.m. game.

- SeaBas is moving back east. Coney Island's Sebastian Telfair was traded yesterday from the Portland Trailblazers to the Boston Celtics. Telfair was traded with Theo Ratliff and a 2008 2nd round pick for Raef LaFrentz, Dan Dickau, and the rights to Randy Foye, who Boston picked with the seventh overall selection in last night's NBA Draft. The trade came as a surprise to Telfair, but the Daily News says he's happy to join the Celtics, "I didn't really know when it was coming. I heard rumors, but when it was finalized I was very happy that it went through. I wasn't exactly happy to leave, but to play for a team that's running up and down, that's a much better fit for me." Telfair should fit in perfectly in Boston as he smuggled a firearm (!!) onto Portland's team plane in Boston last season.

It's the same media that NEVER mentioned Muslims' hatred of Israel as a possible motive for 9/11.
