A New Hound in Town

2006_06_food_chowhound.JPG

If you've been over to Chowhound lately, you'll notice that things look and act a bit differently. A few months back, Chowhound joined forces with CNET and Mule Design to create a new and improved site to allow Chowhounds to share their suggestions for local delicacies. The message boards are still there, but they are much easier to use, maneuver, and search. In addition to the new, streamlined look and feel, other enhancements include a "My CHOW" where you can register to keep track of your favorite threads, RSS feeds, "Radio Free Chowhound" streaming content, and a digest version of the message boards. Check it out and let us know what you think!

I had gotten used to the old look...along with the long loading time when I used my old iMac.
I congratulate Jim Leff on his deal with CNET. He ran a good site (notwithstanding his policy of 'blacking out' certain restaurants when he was suspicious of shills), one which I used often to check out a new place or get the lowdown on an older place. I also posted my own two cents regularly. I would guess Jim devoted most waking hours of his days to the site. Accordingly, any personal financial gain that resulted from the association with CNET is well-deserved.

Wow. Nothing like making a bad thing worse.
