2006_03_food_Hot Sake2.jpg- Here is the worst news we have seen since she announced her last project. Please let this era end soon.

- Chalk up another myth unraveled for all by the communicative power of the internet, this time it’s browning of avocados (via Slashfood).

- While we like the food a ton at 5 Ninth and as much as we like it, we always found the choice of Pabst on tap there to be an odd insider indulgence. Continuing on the insider tip, tonight is the first go round for a late night food industry party (PDF alert) at 5 Ninth from 11pm-1am. Our pal Joel Michel says they are looking to establish a place for dialogue amongst food professionals. Expect interesting conversation, free capirinhias and maybe some food in the back garden.

- Shiovawn is pushing this book for those looking to explore molecular gastronomy should general food science reading now quench the thirst.

- Michael Ruhlman is guest blogging over at Megnut, which consistently has great stuff.

Rachel Ray is sure easy on the eyes to look at.

Well, it could always be worse when it comes to Rachael (remember, not Rachel) -- at least she isn't getting her own sitcom like Emeril did. Now he's doing toothpaste commercials, for whatever reason (is he that strapped for cash?).

Everyone gets a talk show these days except for me.

What exactly is the bad news about Rachhel Ray? That she has a website? That she rides a motorcycle? That she is taping in NYC?

The really bad news about Rachel Ray is that she exists. Thanks for reminding me of this fact.

Related to that avocado story - guacamole does not need lime or lemon juice in it. It is much better without and will not turn brown on you.

  • Rachael Ray... shark.

    Shark... Rachael Ray.

    Commence jumping.

wtf is everyone's problem with rachel ray? what's so wrong with making down-to-earth food that people can make quickly and cheaply with shortcuts? isn't that better than stopping at taco bel on the way home?
