67th Precinct is a "Madhouse"

2006_06_67thprecinct.jpgEast Flatbush's 67th Precinct sees its share of crime, but early Sunday morning, there were five different incidents in less than five hours that had 10 injured people. Not only did a police officer told reporters, "The Six-Seven right now is a madhouse," the 67th has the dubious honor of being the number 1 precinct for shootings and shooting victims citywide. Here are the five incidents during the sultry night/early morning:- 12:05AM: Two men were shot outside 275 Martense Street
- 1:17AM: A teenaged girl and a 51 year old women were shot at 77 East 55th Street
- 3:19AM: Teenager shot in the back on Nostrand Avenue near Farragut
- 3:23AM: Two teens shot at 197 East 59th Street
- 4:42AM: Three people "stabbed or slashed" at East 45th and GlenwoodResidents admitted that while crime was down overall, it's still depressing that some people continue the violence. One woman told the NY Times, "Sometimes it's just stupidity, simple arguments. Sometimes it's with their own friends," while another man said, "Why, when a young person leaves the house for a party, why do they pack a gun?" All victims are in stable condition and are expected to survive.

The Times also had a map of where the crimes were; amNew York noticed it practically pinpointed the edges of the 67th Precinct.

Not a surprise, do you know what kind of animals live in that area?

The same kind that would make such a contemptuous, ignorant statement.
