Throwing in a bad review every now and again adds some credibility, I think. I understand not wanting to spread the hate, but telling some folks which places to avoid is the second best thing to telling 'em which places to hit!

Dude, you picked the two WORST items on the menu. Yeah those suck. But their roast pork sandwich is great, their burgers are good, their brunch specials are tasty yum. You gotta know what to order for sure there. If you're in the hook again try something else on the menu. Sorry 'bout that, I don't work there but I'm in the neighborhood and I feel like I owe you an apology :)

Huh, I've eaten at Hope & Anchor a bunch of times and I never got a rude 'tude. And the food was good - their burgers are delish. So I respectfully disagree with your review of H&A. Maybe you should give it another try.

Chris, Agreed. To say "Ever think that maybe that's why you're still a cabby!!!" is a clear sign of an insecure and negative human being, using tacky and judgemental insults to make himself feel better. Not to mention completely irrelevant to discussing personal food preferences.

Hope and Anchor is great, don't know what you're talking about! Perhaps not so great for take-out, but every meal I've had here has been a joy. An off day perhaps, but don't write them off completely as from my repeated experienced, they're a really solid restaurant that does most everything right

Wow. I live in Red Hook and eat at Hope and Anchor a few times a week. Never had the roast beef, but I have had the chicken sandwich - I love it - and it's supposed to be served cold. Ever think that maybe that's why you're still a cabby!!!
