Outstanding. A report about gratuitous stabbings and all the comments are about the quality of the reporting.

Are stabbings of this type so common as to be banal in NY?

What can you expect from a paper called a "RAG."

I remember my first time in NYC. I caught the express to Harlem by mistake. It was rush hour. afterwards, I remember telling myself that it would not happen again. I believe that I was on the blue line. It was so fraustrating. I didn't know the system so I couldn't make the automatic switch. I had to think and ask questions. Then like these poor people, you've got to ride out an express train.

Some stations can be very confusing. The 7th avenue stop at 57th street can be tricky. When the train pulls into the station going south, it always seems like it should be traveling in the opposite direction. I always read signs now instead of relying on my "sense" of direction.

Do you mean "wary?" Or does the Daily News report make you tired? Sounds like they planned to get on a B or C to 86th street and walk across. It's not that hard, even for a newcomer with a sense of direction. If you keep walking away from the direction you came in, you'll end up on the East side (How far up- or downtown is in question, though.)

*According to the Daily News, McCarthy and girlfriend Ganda Krisananuwatara "had strolled through the Guggenheim Museum and wanted to take a spin through Central Park when they accidentally got on an uptown D train that ran express to 125th St.*

I'm a little weary on the report from the daily news.

The Guggenheim is on 5th Avenue @ 89th Street. The couple wanted to "take a spin" in Central Park, but accidentally got on a "D" train?

The D is on the west side (and only runs express from Columbus Circle to 125th or vice versa). So the couple first would have had to walk diagnally across the park (south to Columbus Circle and since they're not New Yorkers, they would most surely get lost in the park) to get to the Orange and Blue lines (B,D,A,C). At no point in the park is the walk a way the crow flies (straight shot across), in theory, they would have been pre occupied in the park for the remainder of the day...

Really nice of Christopher McCarthy. I'm sure I'd not be so forgiving.
