COMEDY: Sara Schaefer's latest show is at UCB, following up her long running series "Sara Schaefer is Obsessed With You" with a new show called "Video Gaga". The night features Schaefer counting down funny music videos for you (we've been told that tonight will include The Fresh's Myspace video), a live musical act (tonight it's Erin McKeown), special guests and glittery dance numbers! (We hear she has her own version of Fly Girls!).
9:30pm // Upright Citizen’s Brigade Theatre [307 W 26th Street btw 8th and 9th] // $5
ART OPENING: Iraqi Art Today at Pomegranate in Soho, features the (predominantly abstract) paintings of 9 Iraqi artists. It may be a far cry from the grand-survey-of-an-entire-nation's-art that the ambitious-sounding exhibition title suggests, but the press release promises "an underlying social edginess at the soul of what is largely sophisticated abstraction." But by the looks of the sample image provided on their website, this group of painters may be as passionately taken with cliché painterly tropes as many of their western counterparts. - Jason Laning
6:30 – 8:30pm // Pomegranate [133 Greene Street] // Free
READINGS: Happy Ending Lounge's Music and Reading Series is held every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month at the bar and was chosen by New York Magazine and the NY Press as the best reading series in the city, describes itself as "featuring the most interesting storytellers, writers, musicians, raconteurs and personalities," plus, the featured musician has to play one cover song to get the audience to sing along! Don't miss tonight's reading, with readings by Laura Dave, Lydia Davis, and Sigrid Nunez, and with music from Marcellus Hall. - Krissa Corbett Cavouras
8pm // Happy Ending Lounge [302 Broome St. at Forsyth] // Free
THEATER: The Queens Players are getting forced out of the Creek Theatre, but before they go they're putting on their first-ever festival of one-act plays, cleverly called Act One: One Act. There's certainly no shortage of festivals to choose from right now, as usual, and there have been several one-act festivals in the past couple of months, but this one sets itself apart by focusing solely on work from "New York's undiscovered writers." And who would they be? On the 6-item program, there's Paul Gibney ("A Date Under His Own Name"), Angela Lovell ("Girl Talk"), Jay D. Hanagan ("This Just In"), Steve Strangio ("That Dress"), Danielle Abbatiello ("Forward Movement"), and V.E. Kimberlin ("13 Steps"). An opportunity to get an unadulterated taste of New York playwriting, in a theater blessedly far from Broadway? Count us in. - Mallory Jensen

MUSIC: We'll be at ¡Forward, Russia! tonight, which were guessing will be a loud and energetic enough show to keep our mind off of not being at Radiohead tonight. We suggest you do the same.
