have you ever been to planet thailand in w'burg or to the thai cafe in greenpoint? i'm curious about how it compares to the originals. i always order sushi at planet thai and though in past years it was the food all around was much better, it's always been one of my favorite restaurants.

I get so sick of hearing people complain about the current Brooklyn location. You want Thai food in a tiny space? Walk up to Greenpoint, or better yet, head to Queens.

So it's not "as good" as the old location, big fucking deal. Sure, it's obnoxious to have djs (do they still?), but there are other advantages. It's a really easy place to take a big party with no reservations, and a great place to take a tired family member who has just arrived on a plane (they can zone out without feeling guilty).

And you know, the food is perfectly palatable, and can be quite delicious. It's also nice for when you're not exactly sure whether or not you're craving Thai. Japanese, or a little bit of both. I've been going to the larger location since they opened, and have never felt ill after eating sushi, so you probably don't have to worry about this. The price is right, and the waitstaff friendly.

I'm sorry you had to pay for your meal. Would it kill a reviewer to pay for a meal out-of-pocket once in a while? I would imagine food reviews would be a little more accurate if this was the case.

Thai Cafe on Manhattan Ave is supposed to be the first in this chain, and it's a great (for the neighborhood). It's also
