A woman was attacked and raped at the Sunset Park beauty salon where she worked. According to the stylist's cousin (and owner of the salon), the victim had let a man in to use the salon's bathroom around 1PM, but once he was done in the bathroom, he hit her with a hammer. She offered the beauty salon's money to him, but instead, he took off her socks and shoes, then tied her up and raped her, per WNBC.
Police say the victim, who has a fractured skull, is in stable condition.

I get angry when I read stories like this, not because the victims deserve what happenes to them but because I always read about how they enabled a crime by not using their brain. People have to stop being so trusting and naive. This woman was alone in a place of business (translation = place with cash) and lets a random man inside to use the bathroom?
What the hell was she thinking?
Wake up people...
Someone should hit you in head with a hammer and knock some sense into your tiny-pea-sized brain, ABC Girl.
if they ever do bring the death penalty back - make rape one of the crimes punishable by it
Hey Kyle,
God forbid I tell people it's stupid for women who are alone to let men into their deserted workplace.
What's the matter, am I making it harder for you to find solitary defenseless women to rape?
Fck you, jerkoff.
Oh yeah, you're doing a real public service ABC Girl. Someone gets raped and gets their skull cracked and all you care about is being firsties to blame them on some comments board. You are such a waste of space.
If you let a stranger into your \'private space\' you are asking for trouble. You call it \'firsties\' or whatever the hell you want to (are you in second grade?), I call it taking responsibilty for your actions and protecting your life.
But as an idiot, you wouldn\'t understand that concept.
As I said before fck off.
A business is not a private space - it\'s not like it\'s her apartment, for God\'s sake. Christ, it was one in the afternoon. Just because you don\'t live in fear of attack at all times doesn\'t mean you have poor judgment.
I\'m not sure where the shop was located in Sunset Park, but if it was on any of the main avenues, someone knocking on your door at 1PM isn\'t that suspicious.
ABC Girl, yeah, it WAS a preventable lapse in judgement on her part, but that doesn\'t justify the fact that she was brutally beaten and raped.
Posting links in other comments sections is getting old, especially when after reading your original post you seem to be pretty heartless in your wording, despite what good intentions you may have had.
Guy,
Huh?
I thought this was a comment board where people post their opinions: right or wrong. I don\'t post so I can get people like you and idiots like KYLE to tell me I am playing \"firsties\" and that I\'m \"pretty heartless\". I was simply stating that people have to take responsibility for their own safety.
It turns out the original story about this crime has changed: they guy came to the salon pretending he was making a hair appt and used that as a ruse to gain the female employee\'s trust. That changes the whole story completely.
I am just sick and tired of reading about how naive and trusting NYers are when the sad reality is that YOU CAN\'T BE. Especially as a woman living in the city. But you must be a guy-- as is idiot KYLE --and you can\'t POSSIBLY begin to comprehend what it\'s like as a female in this city. I read earlier this week that a NYer opened their front door because someone asked to borrow a pen. Last week a womann let a guy into her apartment because he claimed to have some of her stolen property from a robbery a few weeks prior. Do you hear bells ringing as you read each of these stories? I did!
Am I being heartless? Did the victims deserve what happened to them? No.
I just want people to wake up and realize they can help protect themselves, because NYers this week aren\'t doing a very good job of it...
BTW, you need to read all the other types of racial crap people post on here-- way more heartless and cruel then I could EVER be. I let KYLE off easy if you ask me...
Oh and Samantha,
Rapists DO strike at one o\'clock in the afternoon in broad daylight.
Do yourself a favor: wake up.
Even though I agree with ABC girl that some NYers are asking for trouble being too trusting, who the fuck is this ABC Girl to rant and pass judgement on
all NYers!?
Go lock yourself in you apartment with your cats and stay there, you crazy fuck up bitch!
