This tag has been popping up all over downtown. A bunch of people have said it's written in Arabic script, but we're not sure. Can anyone offer some translation support?
UPDATE: while the comments on this post were marred by some knuckleheads, several people made an honest effort to translate the tag. There seems to be a growing consensus that it reads "Pharoah". There is another street-artist working in the same neighborhoods called "Faro"-- we'll ask around and see if they are one-in-the-same.

It's not Arabic. If you tilt your head to the left, it looks like an ass taking a nasty dump, from the perspective of being in the toilet water, looking upwards.

It appears to say "far'oun" which is Arabic for "Pharoah." But the dot on top of the first letter is smudged, which is why others have come up with different readings.
according to my sources the literal translation reads - 'red sox suck !!!'

Are the people who post comments here truly as bigoted and immature as they appear? You can't even look at arabic script without throwing a fit? Do you even realize how much of the English language is traced back directly to arabic?
Umm, what's up with all the racist comments about the Arabic script? Just because our media shows the most inaccurate and negative depictions of Arabs, do we need to lower ourselves to the level of bigotry and hate?
Given the nature of the script, it's rather difficult to read but it looks like it is fraawan (or fraawin or fraawon-no vowel markers so can't tell) or fraawaz (or fraawiz or fraawoz) now what that means is anybodies guess as I don't know this word. It may be a dialectical word from any of the Arabic speaking regions that isn't the classical Arabic that I know.

The ink nearly ran out on my pen and I actually just scribbled that exact same character as I was testing my pen on the back of a discarded envelope.
I just moved here from Iraq only a few months ago. It literally means "resolve to help", but it has been used as a motivational saying in Baghdad to rise up against the invading Americans. It would mean something like "join forces and help fight the intruders".
It's a powerful saying that is becoming more and more popular.

Btw, lots of Egyptians are christians, and most arabs in the US are christians (some 70%, though that number changes). So, first, to assume any arab hates the US is stupid. Second, to assume all arabs are muslims, especially arabs in the states, is statistically incorrect.
