As a cop who worked at that station, before Disney (If anyone can remember), I am sure there is a lot more to that story. Whats the big deal about him being treated the same way as any other guy. If he was given special treatment, it would have made the front page, not this blog. As a matter of fact, six hours was a favor Im sure. He wasn’t arraigned the next morning like everyone else. Your welcome.
As for the model, why the media blitz? Things like that happen countless times a day. A cop trying to be safe and make sure he doesn’t get shot isn’t big news. Its how we make sure we go home to OUR family. A pretty model can carry a gun just as easily as the local drug dealer. I would call the press bias. When they start showing up for and writing about every man and/or woman who is thrown to the ground on every GUN run, then Ill give their words the attention and respect they deserve.

$120 million? Now he actually deserves a serious beating. If I were Ray Kelly I'd be fantasizing about doing a Fat Nick on him.

What a silly question. No, of course cops have nothing better to do than grabbing at young women. I mean if you were a young (or old) male cop what better way than to while away your time than harassing young women at subway stations. All he has to say if it ever gets to be a big issue is he didn't see token booth clerk motion you through the gate. He gets his jolly/God complex satisfied and none the worse for wear. Ah gotta love civil servants.

Had a similar problem at that very station with a plain clothed officer. After the lady at the booth told me to go through the gate, this man comes up and violently grabs my arm. I barreled passed him because what the hell, why is this man grabbing me?! Then he yelled at me for pushing a police officer and for not paying my fare (BTW- I have a monthly card). Don't police officers have better things to do than grab young women and wrongly accuse them of evading fares?

If normal human nature is any guide, invoking the name of "[your boss] is gonna make you pay! Don't you know who I am?" is basically a good way to guarantee a beatdown. By anyone. In any profession. Cops especially.

If I can remember back to what I learned in math class... he's asking for almost 130,000 years worth of 30-day fun pass use. Not even Charlie could last in the MTA that long.
