-Giants 7 Mets 6 12inn: It was a game that had a lot of familiar events. Armando Benitez blowing a save and the Mets coming back in dramatic fashion, but the ending was different. Jose Valentin and Lastings Milledge homered in the tenth off of Benitez to bring New York back from a 6-4 deficit, but Pedro Feliz knocked in the winning run in the twelfth to give the Giants a series win.
-Baltimore 11 Yankees 4: The Orioles jumped all over Aaron Small who looks like he has reverted to form. Small was rocked, giving up seven runs and three homers in less than three innings of work. Scott Erickson came in and added to the fun, giving up four runs in three innings as Baltimore salvaged a game of their weekend series with the Yankees.
The biggest news for New York was Derek Jeter getting hit on the thumb by Rodrigo Lopez and being forced to leave the game. Jeter was sent for an x-ray, which was negative, but he will probably have to miss a couple of games of the upcoming series with the Red Sox. At this rate, it probably won’t be long before New York has open tryouts at the Stadium to fill out the roster.
-Miami 10 Manhattan 4- The Jaspers may have lost, but they had a great season to build on for next year. (Now if they can only get Bobby Gonzalez back from Seton Hall)
