Missing Bronx Child Found

2006_06_bamonte.jpgLittle Brandon Aponte, who was kidnapped from a Walton Avenue tattoo shop where his father works on Saturday, was found this morning, along with Tatiana Morales who kidnapped him. They were spotted around 2AM in East Flatbush by police, and the 13 year old Morales was taken into police custody for questioning. The story was very weird. Yesterday, it was reported that Morales was a tattoo shop regular, possibly stripper from Detroit named "Essence," had taken the 3 year old, but then it turned out she was a 13 year old girl named Tatiana Morales "who could appear twice her age by dressing up." Aponte's uncle Zeus told reporters that Morales was fixated on the boy, telling him that she was his mommy. Police had taken Brandon's father Luis Aponte into custody for questioning about the boy's disappearance, since he waited 3 hours before contacting police. Aponte was supposed to take a polygraph test, and relatives claim there was no relationship between the 28 year old father and 13 year old Morales. Zeus Aponte is offering a $10,000 reward for Brandon's return.

Morales' family says she hadn't been home in months, as well as the fact that she had been a straight-A student but changed when she was dating a 17 year old. Brandon is at St. Barnabas Hospital for observation.

what shocks me is how the news reports were saying that the girl has always wanted a baby. she's 13 for crying out loud! and there's no way that she looks twice her age.

Ha, ha, Rocknrope! The poor organization of the article had me confused, too. I don't mean to be a fusspot, beacause sometimes the consistency of the sloppiness amuses me; I just take exception to the abuse of the notion of what the title "editor" means (as opposed to "writer and poster").

Not to be an a-hole or anything, but if you're going to have the title "editor," you should at least learn how to edit your own writing. Everything you post on this site is rife with grammatical and syntax errors. Take 2 minutes for a grammar check/spell check and read stuff out loud to see if it makes sense, and you'll be lending yourself a lot more credibility in no time.

real copy editor -

You're wasting your breath. It has been pointed out many times that Jen's grammar and spelling is worse than a Take 5 bar to no avail. I've simply learned to look past the majority of misspellings a grammar mistakes, so I can focus on the lame content.

This took me three tries to read and I'm still not sure if I understand it. Geez - my high school newspaper was better written than this!

My head hurts.

I'm still working out this doozie:

"Yesterday, it was reported that Morales was a tattoo shop regular, possibly stripper from Detroit named "Essence," had taken the 3 year old, but then it turned out she was a 13 year old girl named Tatiana Morales..."
