Yep, street fairs are mostly full of crap and just leave the place looking shabby. I'd like to see the standard increased to drop the chains and encourage a little more variety. This is NYC after all.

Gothamgal is right on. While the street fairs where the local shops set up tables are nice and serve a purpose, those retarded ones in Manhattan selling the same, overpriced crap are just obnoxious. I can't believe the NYC government is willing to put the time and money into those things. I think someone should write Bloomberg and tell him that this is definitely something NYC should do without. In fact, I'll do it.
