It always amazes me when people like Ultraboooooooy write comments dissing Gothamist for talking about a band. Why are you reading Gothamist in the first place if you don't think they are getting it right or have something to say or have any clout for that matter. Asobi Seksu have been criminally neglected in the NYC music scene for years now. They have gotten some press but not nearly as much as some other really shitty bands that seem to have 'made' it. With 'Citrus' now out it looks like Asobi might finally be able to take it to the next level. Then again, probably not.......................

Um, ultraboy... yes, Asobi Seksu have been around for a number of years, but for the vast majority of that time they've been criminally neglected while less-talented peers of theirs have gotten the limelight. And to the best of my recollection, NME and SPIN have never written about them, ever. I'm delighted that Asobi Seksu is finally getting their chance in the sun, they've earned it.

Yeah Gothamist, plugging a band that has been around now for well over a few years. If I want safe, front-runner, bandwagon band reviews I'll check out NME, SPIN, or pitchfork.
