Enron Execs are GUILTY!

2006_5_enron1.jpg

With the verdict in on the fraud and conspiracy trial of Enron's Kenneth Lay and Jeffrey Skilling, one thing is for sure: They are going to be old men in prison. Lay was found guilty on all charges while Skilling was found guilty on 20 of 28 counts (conspiracy, fraud, false statements, insider trading). So, Wall Street, when it's too good to be true - it just might not be true!

Here's extensive Enron coverage from Houstonist-- they've been covering the entire trial! And have you seen the documentary about the rise and fall of Enron, The Smartest Guys in the Room?

they better get used to the jism jam soon

there's gonna be a lot of spunk in the trunk

the tighter the hole, the sweeter the reward

rich or poor, the jizz is the same

at least I never tasted mancock juice

the thick gagging juice that kums out of big balls

    oh yeah, they're rich

  • While it's true that many of their crimes were committed in the 90's, I don't recall Bill Clinton having Kenny Boy Lay over to the Governor's Mansion or the White House for beers and BBQ.

I'm also not sure how many checks to the DNC you'll find in Lay's checkbook. Both Kenny and W. knew who buttered their bread.

As for their being richer than posters even in jail... well, when you're right you're right, at least in my case :>).

Did you know that Kenneth Lay was the largest single donor to President Bush's 2000 presidential campaign? Oh, and Bush used Enron corporate jets for free in the Republican primary. But these days he's forgotten all about his good buddy. Guess a criminal conviction makes Kenny Boy an embarrassment instead of a cash cow.

  • Jeb Bush in 08

let's keep all this republican prosperity going. America has flourished under the Bush administration. We've brought peace to the middle east and everyone is living in a utopia.

  • real deal holyfield

Skilling and Lay are American Heroes. The American Dream is to exploit other people for your own gain is it not? what's wrong with that? Everybody does it, they just did it on a bigger scale.

  • puttingoutfirewithvasoline

they'll be wacking off a lot.

20 to 30 years of wacking can make your hands into a claw.

or, they'll suck cock for protection.

don't think they'll be a lot of sympathy.

at least I'm not a felon.

    wack off, wack on.

It's nice to see some Clinton era criminals get convicted. Fortunately in the Bush era these people are brought to justice. I don't think GWB will pardon them - pardoning crooks was Bill Clinton's specialty.

And it is kind of funny that these guys will still be living more comfortably than the average Gothamist poster.

  • Republican person

hahhaha. so what if Lay and skilling do time. you may have caught some fish today, but you've let millions of other corrupt politicos and corportations slip through. You guys are celebrating cause like it makes a difference. We'll win cause we have fake GOD on our side.

Houstonist needs some pr help, the entire front page has only two comments. does anyone read it at all?

  • A con man is a con man is a con man.

    Faith will be rewarded.

yes, the american dream is about raping the american people for your own private fortune: be it taxpayers who are paying for an ineffective war with their increasingly hard earned money and their lives, or your employees and their 401k pensions, or even the investors who have kept your company afloat despite your corrupt and inept management. ahhh, the american dream. too bad we have these silly things called laws and *gasp* ethics and stupid government and courts to enforce them, but thankfully, our hero bush and his buddies are fixing that problem. these guys will get bounced soon, no worries there.

  • willbahr

    They can't dream now.

they're felons and gonna get ass fucked.

Only in this country can you get people to dream when only one percent are millionares.

  • Rich GUY

Yeah, so what? bush is a hero. Kenneth Lay and Skilling are Heroes! they were just following the american dream. Fuck all you haters! You guys lost the election cause you had your heads up your asses. Wake up and smell what the american dream is really about.

  • Larry

Clinton pardoned a whole bunch of murderers, rapists and thieves. Why can't Bush pardon two guys that people are just insanely jealous of?

  • Marilyn

I just saw the documentary this past weekend. Serves them right! Going away to Federal Pound Me In the Ass Prison!

  • Rodney P. Sweetchops

I hope these guys go to prison and are brutally ass raped for years to come. However, I would not be surprised at all if they are pardoned as Bush's last act before he leaves office.

  • jackblack

You mean President Bush's good whom he calls "kennie boy" on a first name basis got in trouble? what does that say about kenneth lay? what does that say about president bush? what does that say about the retarded republicans who voted for him?

  • Urania

One of the most chilling moments in the Enron documentary was during the recorded phone conversations between two energy traders who were watching as a forest fire shut down a major transmission line into California, cutting power supplies and raising prices, "Burn, baby, burn. That's a beautiful thing," a trader sang about the massive fire.

  • victimofenron

Let's see what penalty they'll get...still does not right what they did to the average investors who bought their stocks or have them in their 401K...

  • Larry

Jeff is too sexy to be jailed!!!

  • They will wind up getting pardoned by President Cheney, I mean President Bush.

  • hell yeah

    ALL RIGHT!

  • JUSTICE
