Child Finds Mother Stabbed to Death

In a quiet part of Sheepshead Bay, police found a woman stabbed to death in her bedroom. Patricia Torres was discovered yesterday morning by her 6 year old son, who was hungry for breakfast. The child ran into the street, crying that his mother had been dead. The police are looking to speak with Torres' boyfriend; on Monday night, police had been called about loud fighting in the apartment, but the victim and boyfriend did not report anything unusual.

The NY Times reports that the son said he was home from school because he suffered from asthma. He stayed with a neighbor during the day, and the Post says he asked to see his school teacher, who visited him with a counselor.
