I can't be bothered with anything these days, but such is life. I don't care. So it goes. More or less nothing seems worth thinking about. I've just been hanging out waiting for something to happen, but that's how it is.

How long is the wait before an e-mail confirmation is receievd? I've already submitted my entry twice and it's been 15 minutes and no response. I don't want to flood their system with multiple requests.

last summer i camped overnight in a city park with some friends, we cooked dinner and everything. in the morning, we packed up our tents and, in true new york fashion, went to brunch.

Aaargh, Check your email to see if you recieved a confirmation of your submission. I noticed the same peculiar thing when I hit submit, but I did receive an email confirm. But then again, its the City, so who knows...

Hey, Sharon - thanks for the info and email me because I have some questions for you! Yes, from Rog's post, he said last year's Central Park spots went quickly. And I'm just upset that I can't sleep over at the Bronx Zoo because I don't have a child - must I wait 10+ years for that?

Just so you all know, this isn't a new thing. The parks department has been offering camping for at least three years and I have camped in every borough with my children and have written about it in my new book, Big Apple Safari for Families, which offers tons of outdoor/nature things to do around the city. Also, the Bronx Zoo has long invited adults AND their kids to sleep in tents at the zoo. I've done that too. While it's not free and rather costly, the zoo offer three campouts a year at the Bronx Zoo. Also in my boo, so check it out!

I suppose that once your fill out the sign-up form and are accepted, you'll get details on what you need to bring. I'm wondering about many New Yorkers scrambling to eBay and craiglist to buy tents and sleeping bags!
