Jesse Chan-Norris sees that the Broadway and 8th Street location of 'wichcraft has opened up - and the soups of the day are Chicken and Cauliflower. This bring the total to six locations in NYC, and this one is will truly be tested come the fall semester of NYU. It's a pricey visit for lunch, but not if you're loading up on a lot of stuff at the salad bar. (And having a nice lunch one day a week is Gothamist's new decadence - we make lunch four days a week and one day a week we go somewhere "nice.")
Here's the wichcraft site.

I ate at the Tribeca one and was not that impressed. Gothamist, why the obsession?
wichcraft is definitely no Shake Shack. It's just sandwiches that you can get at cosi or au bon pain. Cmon we need another shake shack.
I disagree... the sandwiches are freaking amazing. Today I had Sicilian tuna. the reason it was so good is the ingredients are top notch. I don't think you can say that about au bon pain or the other midtown sandwich places. plus you don't get that grease overload feeling afterwards, like can happen sometimes with the shack.
i had the grilled cheese for dinner last night. it was fine, but a little too sophisticated for my sandwich tastes i guess. i just think that for that price i have better options.
