I think the balloon had to be tested during the day to accurately mimic parade conditions, one of the biggest being daylight so handlers can see. And while this is probably a big show for the OEM to prove it is concerned, I am a sucker for Pikachu in the morning.

What a lame excuse for a publicity stunt. There is zero reason other than PR for them to ahve NOT done this 'test' in the middle of the night or on a sunday morning when all forms of traffic are traditionally lighter. Who the heck watches Parades anyway? All parades are just a worthless disruption that should be banned.

I don't see why they couldn't have done this on a weekend or during the overnight hours when it would be less disruptive to traffic.
