is-wine is Coming to 8th Street

In keeping with the wine theme this weekend, Gothamist noticed this sign on 8th Street between 5th and 6th Avenues the other day. We can't help but get excited about a new wine store in the 'hood. is-wine bills itself as an "innovative wine merchant," and is currently located at 225 East Fifth Street, between 2nd Ave and Cooper Square. Have any of you been there? What do you think of it?

Small and serious; a good addition to NYC wine shops. The people involved know what they are doing.

"Is wine" on 5th Street is my favorite wine store. Reasonably priced ($10 to $20), not too much to choose from (so you can remember what you liked), but every bottle in the store is a winner. The owner seriously recommends that people drink two bottles of wine a day. I'll be sad to see it move outta my 'hood.
