At first, police thought that the death of 26 year old Tiesha Sargeant was a robbery gone bad. She and her boyfriend, Keeve Huggins, were confronted by thieves in the middle of the night at their Flatbush apartment: The thieves had put a sheet over her head and then shot her, taking off with $5,000 and left a gun. At least, that's what Huggins told the police. But now it turns out he dealt pot out of the apartment (he was earlier described as a party promoter), and police wonder if Huggins was the intended target or if it was a "deal gone bad." A police source told the Daily News, "Either way, this young woman was innocent." The Daily News article is particularly dramatic and sad; it notes the irony of how Sargeant was smart and ambitious, whereas her choice in love may have been fatal.

Sounds like a skit from "When Dating Bad Boys Goes Wrong"
Shame that love can make people put the rational to the side.
Oh...did I mention I live in the most expensive zip code in the city ?
Does anyone on this site live in the most expensive zip code in the city, becuase I have a quastion that needs answering. It is very important nad I only want someone who lives in the most expensive zip code in the city to answer it.
Homeopt - No, I don't think you've mentioned it before.... Oh wait, that's right, you've already said it about 5 times.
erocs, not only do I live in the most expensive building but so does everyone in my landmark building. If I can't answer your question I'll have my doorman circulate it to the rest of the building.
I bet 1 million bucks the killers were black. who wants to take my bet?
If she was white this would be a major front page story. Sad but true.
Toby - while I would normally agree, I've been following this story and noticed no accompanying photos of her in any of the articles. I'm wondering if this was intentional. Are there ever any circumstances when the family intentionally requests a low profile, or perhaps if a photo of the victim isn't supplied, it doesn't receive as much coverage? Also, there was the other murder of a Latino girl the same day, which was definitely all over the news.
Jackass - A million bucks says you are an asshole! Oh you just proved it. Pay up.
Im actually a personal friend of the victims. He IS a club promoter. He actually has a very successful business....but this isnt an excuse. And yes, either way, Tiesha was innocent. She will be missed by a lot of people. And we all wish the best for Keeve. He is a GREAT person and friend
There is a picture of her on the front page of today's Daily News.

i'm also a personal friend of the victim. we were all shocked and saddened by how the media initially portrayed her. she was an amazing light -- bubbly, friendly, always upbeat and yes, strikingly beautiful. she will be missed greatly. and for the record, there are cases where families would rather the media not swarm their houses during such a horrible time in their lives; particulary when the media usually gets the story wrong.
So this punk was "sleeping" while the hit went down on his girl? Considering that he was too much of a coward to deal with some people who came to see him on the friday before the killing and made his girl do it, I wouldn't be suprised if he was wide awake and shaking like a sissy under the covers while the murder went down.
There's an article about her in today's Post. She sounds like a lovely girl.

A lovely Girl with a penchant for Drug Dealers? C'mon, girls are with drug dealers for either drugs or money or both. At the very least she was Morally challenged. She knew what the dude was doing.
I can't even believe I'm responding to a troll, but it's a really a shame that the only way JO can feel validated is by trashing the deceased. I can say from personal experince she would never have wasted her day posting drivel against victims, since she had more class than JO could ever hope to amass in a lifetime.
My prayers are with her family and friends.
I've been wondering what happened. I live on Sterling Street and was coming home around 2 am when I saw cop cars everywhere at the corner of Sterling and Bedford. The crime tape was still up a couple days later.
And by the way, Gothamist, the neighborhood is Prospect-Lefferts Gardens, not Flatbush.
