Not only did the police arrest DJ Star and charge him with aggravated harrassment and endangering the welfare of a minor, they managed to get him to Police Headquarters by asking him to surrender his 9mm handgun. And when he arrived - he was taken to the First Precinct to be arrested. Wow - that's a switcheroo, though it seemed sort of pre-ordained, given how much attention has been put on the former Power 105FM DJ after he threatened to molest the 4 year old child of another rival DJ. DJ Star told reporters, "You're looking at the new Lenny Bruce." He was released on $2,000 bail, and his lawyer Ben Brafman continued to claim it was simply a matter of radio station rivalries gone amok.
And say what you will about First Amendment rights, even Floyd Abrams thinks he crossed the line. Abrams told the Daily News, However loud and sometimes off-the-wall deejays sometimes are on the radio, it's a very different situation when a deejay can be said to have threatened to harm a child and to have offered money for information about how to find the child."

Does anyone know exactly what the guy said? I have read ten different accounts, and none has even an expurgated version of it.
Josh
I'm trying to track down something a bit more thorough, but here's a partial transcript:

Why are rappers so stupid?
"You're looking at the new Lenny Bruce." Yeah, right. Just like George W. is the new Thomas Jefferson.
Just look at that picture. The guy's as conceited and arrogant as ever, even in handcuffs. Not a trace of remorse on that face. If there's anything resembling justice in this world, he will never work again, not even in a Burger King. The only thing one should do to scum is flush it down the drain.
This is so stupid! He should totally not be jailed at all. He's black. It's in their nature to be angry. It's like caging a dog for sniffing other dog's asses. Ummm hello, he's a dog! That's what they do. Do you guys watch Espn and Stephen A. Smith? That guy yells like a mofo and why? cuase he's black!
He's bi-racial actually....what about the white side? Is it automatically cancelled out? Gee, some of these comments are about as bad as his are.
I really wish flushing down the drain was an official sentence. This sicko needs to realize how disgusting he is.
Can you even imagine having to explain to your child what this freak said he was going to do to them?
I like the star and buck wild show, but what DJ Star was straight up wrong. Yes I think he was definitely joking when he said what he said, BUT you dont make jokes about molesting little kids..... That is disgusting.
Anyone know if White Trash Helene, Miguel, or Chris the queer has commented on this whole issue?
CJ
dj starr was simply playing the role of the bad boy which he is paid to do. it was trash talk that clearly went over the lines of decency and I think termination of employment is appropriate. however to be arrested for something said in a forum of entertainment is completely insane. if city councilman john liu were really concerned about racial issues, he would confront some of the asian storeowners who are becoming rich by opening up businesses in black communities and are flagrantly violating employment laws by hiring only their own ethnicity. that crap would never be tolerated if they were white owned businesses. how come john liu didn't call for his good friend in the city council charles barron to step down when barron made the remark "every so often I need to smack a white person for my mental health" how come john liu agreed to meet with the dicator of zimbabwe, robert mugabe, who is not simply talking about violence but has actually engineered the mass rapes and murder of thousands of people.
Whoa, someone has a John Liu fetish.
Listen, this issue is about Star explicitly stating that he wanted to molest and harm a 4 year old child AND offering monetary rewards for finding out where to find her.
I don't care if you're a goddamn radio personality, President, or Pope, if you say something like that, it's not only repulsive, but can be taken as an actual threat. It's up to a judge to decide whether or not to put him on trial.
