Cecil the Cat On the Mend
Sometimes we just can't get over the cruelty of people. Over in the Gothamist Forum, Lisa, Cecil's foster mom, alerted us to a cat that was found in Greenpoint with some serious injuries. She writes:
Cecil is a 5 month-old kitten who was found in Greenpoint. Someone had bound him with a cord or wire so tight that it cut into his neck, opening wounds that became badly infected. He also has other medical issues and tomorrow goes in for a consultation with an opthalmologist to discuss repairing his eyes. His eyelids are only partially formed causing the fur to rub against his eyes.Cecil is now at the Brooklyn Animal Resource Coalition in Williamsburg where he's got a mighty big hill to climb before recovery. The 5-month old cat has several problems including a heart murmur and a condition that is affecting his eyes. If you're interested in Cecil's progress, the BARC has a blog (of course) where you read about everything that he's gone through since being found in mid-April.
The BARC is also having a benefit concert this Saturday in Williamsburg.

it's not. i'm bored at work and it's just too easy to get people riled up and amazing how people just can't read things and actually believe what people write ... but then feel the need to let them know how displeased they are with what they have written. it's called trolling, and you bit the bait.

hugely agree with the euthanasia suggestion. it would be the humane thing to do.
You have to understand that this is coming from "hr," who once boasted here on Gothamist that he did something similar to a kitten (wrapped a cord around its neck and threw it out the window). This is nothing he hasn't seen or done before. He also loves to troll, because it's the only thing he's good at.
An old girlfriend once said you should never trust anyone who hates animals. It's good advice.
No need to euthanize Cecil.
He's mending up well, as shown by the blog pictures when they found him.
He's a kitten and should live. Especailly after the abuse he's been through.

Oh my god!!!!!!!That is hilarious. Man! In the summer I found this cat on the street. I picked it up, and played with it. Then for some odd reasons, I started getting erections. Weird! Then I had an urging feeling to beat up the cat. So I took a metal pipe, crushed it onto his spine. I then grabbed him, started choking the hell out of him, then threw it head first to the ground. It was scared, and his eyes became wide. I thought it was disrespecting me so I punished it some more. I went inside, grabbed a plastic bag, and put the cat inside. I poured gasoline all over the cat, took a lighter I stole from this nigger, then lit it on fire. I quickly tied the bag and dumped him in the trash can and watched the show. Then my erection went away. Teehee!!!
