Just when you thought you heard the worst thing on the radio, there's something new: Power 105.1 FM fired DJ Star after he threatened to pee on and molest the four year old daughter of rival Hot 97 DJ Envy. Oh, and he called DJ Envy's half-Asian wife, Gia Casey, a "lo-mein eater" and "gook." But the thing that took the cake was when DJ Star, really named Troi Torain, offered listeners $500 to tell him where the four year old daughter of Rasshaun Casey goes to school, and taunted DJ Envy on the air with "If you didn't hear me, I said I would like to do an R. Kelly on your seed. On your little baby girl." for the past week. Now, the R. Kelly comment would have been icky without mention of a four year old, but really, has radio shock-jocking gone this far? Gia Casey spoke at a City Hall press conference (City Councilmen John Liu and Peter Vallone were on hand) and said, "When a man says that he would like to tinkle in the mouth of your little girl and ejaculate on her face - that will make any mother extremely frightened." Uh, yeah, definitely.
On his website, DJ Star calls himself a Hater. A couple years ago, Torain was suspended from Hot 97 for making fun of Aaliyah's fatal plane crash, and DJ Envy was one of the Hot 97 crew involved in the tsunami song. All trouble leads back to Hot 97!

How do you think satellite radio operators will determine who they hire/fire and who gets on what station when. Of course it is ratings driven, and it's a little scarier because they know who is listening to what, when, and for how long. It may not be ratings-driven in the traditional sense, but it certainly is in a new sense. I'd also bet it won't be long before you see ads touting one brands "rating superiority" over another.
But these morons at Hot97 really need to figure out that talking about urinating on a 4 year old is not the way to get ratings. Does anyone actually listen to these morning shows anyway?

I sincerely hope Clear Channel reconsiders their decision and brings Star and Buc back on the air. While the on-air statements of Mr. Torain playing his "Star" character, taken in context of ordinary, serious-minded and proper conversation would be deplorable, in the context of "shock jock" ranting they are in no way outside of the norm.
No reasonable person believes that his comments, said in the same spirit of politically incorrect, social-conformity challenging humor could be seen as representing anything more than jokes in horrible taste. (It is however humor thoroughly reflective, in an exaggerated manner, of behind closed doors sentiment, with NO single group excluded from preposterous ridicule!)
While he does take time out to offer more serious words along a very positive vein, it is the wild, utterly over the top and well beyond-conceivably serious remarks that make his "Star" character so humorous to his listeners.
Saying that a stage named, invented character's threats constitute a real, serious threat would mean that your station could not play the majority of songs that are in regular rotation.
Again, I'm not defending the nature of the humor he employs with the "Star" character but I do think that it is of little to no consequence, especially in light of so called "news" talk shows by true-to-life, serious individuals spewing hate in the guise of political commentary on Clear Channel stations.
Millions of listeners will look elsewhere for morning media options, including me, of wich there is little shortage in our times of MP3's, CDs, satellite radio, tv's in cars (please only passengers!), and in my city, pirate radio.

I would also not be surprised if this wasn't a planned publicity stunt for the radio station. (Obviously it backfired if people here don't even know which station he was on to begin with.)
