Stick a camera in his face and Randy Johnson is the toughest guy on the planet, but if you put him in front of hitters he turns into mush. Johnson was pathetic last night, not only giving up hits, but also walking five batters. Sixteen million dollars sure doesn’t go as far as it used to.
Despite his putrid pitching, Johnson could have escaped a lot of damage if his defense had performed better. A Rod made a key error on a ground ball and Melky Cabrera couldn’t handle a tough pop up which led to five Red Sox runs. Things got so bad that Bernie Williams was ejected for the first time in his career after throwing his helmet in disgust.
While this is a bad loss, it’s important to remember that the Yankees lost to Boston 17-1 two times last year, but still won the season series. They will rebound from this, but the bigger question is, will Randy?

YES kept cutting to shots of Randy's face on the mound last night. You expect to see a scowling, glaring pseudo-psycho, instead he looked like a guy who's rather be anyplace than where he was.
Yeah, and It's always fun to hear Michael Kay sound like he's about to start crying . Johnson had no control at all. From the replays it looked like the ball was rolling off his fingers too early...
Way to show your class, New York Yankee fans. Booing your own pitcher last night. Pathetic.
I seem to remember Red Sox fans booing an X Yankee pitcher when he had a bad start not too long ago...HHHhhmmmmmm?
"Root...":
When you play like pure stir-fried ass with a side of dim-sh*t, you get booed. That's how we do things here.
i was at the game, he was dreadful, and the booing was intensified by the huge number of rod sux fans in attendance. the play booted by arod definitely opened the floodgates though. of course it's impossible to guess what ifs, but i think that had he made that inning ending out, the yankees would have won that game.
