The Junior Senator Can Be Hillaryous

2006_05_bloombergvid.jpgBen Smith at the Daily News blog, the Daily Politics, uploaded a funny video Hillary Clinton made for the Legislative Correspondents Association dinner. Okay, let's face it, Hilary can never be that funny 'cause she's pretty wooden, but it's good for some inside jokes. Beside the plot contrivance of needing to replace her wax figure at Madame Tussaud's and appearances from Donald Trump and almost-Hillary contender Ed Cox, Mayor Bloomberg pops in and basically endorses her! Oh, the antacid Republicans will need! Bloomberg also namechecks State Senator Ada Smith and Post writer Fred Dicker when talking about the possibility of running for higher office. One thing we note: The Mayor loves to make fun of how much money he has.

You mean, Koch?

Instead of cracking jokes at Republicans maybe the Democratic Party could recognize that a moderate like Bloomberg had to abandon the local party because it was too far to the left for New York voters. Four straight election defeats and they haven't learned anything. Is 2009 going to be five more ultra-liberals battling it out for the nomination? For people you are the self annointed better educated half of the country they act awfully dumb. Or maybe they are just insane. Isn't one of the signs of insanity doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result?
