DrunkAtNYU, IMO, connecting that despicable quote to this situation is over the top. Back on Topic: I'm tired of having someone "express" themselves at the expense of the people who actually live there. Among other things, graffiti brings the property values down, makes the neighborhood look like Crap, and, How Strange!, is Not appreciated by the people who actually live there. Don't believe me? Ask people who live in Hollis or Queens Village. With the exceptions of a handful of kids most oddly don't like their neighborhood being "Tagged". "Fuck Vallone"? Why not say "Fuck You all!"? It's a lot more honest. I'm not for hard time for graffiti "Artists", but I sure won't be bothered by any of them going to jail.

I know a lot of graffiti "artists", infact I'm wearing an Abe Lincoln Jr. shirt right now and I can't think of a single one involved in bigger crimes. You want bigger crimes? There are plenty out there in the white collar corporate world. "Get them and lock them up before things escalate." This quote inparticular really reminds me of a t-shirt over at t-shirthell. Peter Vallone, Jr. is a very hardworking and dedicated City Counselman who is taking on a good cause here. Graffiti is urban blight that must be removed. I bet we'll find that a lot of graffiti "artists" are involved in bigger crimes. Get them and lock them up before things escalate.

Peter vallone and others like him cater to the "trailer park" crowd. LCD's. You SI Molinari guys, your simcha felder's and dov hikind's. They're the type who will get up in arms over a broken mailbox. Of course, the broken mailbox is the worst crime that's seen in their neighborhood. but, someone's gotta do something about it.
