Help the People Who Help Animals

2006_05_buddydog.jpgCathy at cityrag let us know the animal rescue group, New Yorkers for Companion Animals, needs some funding. They are a non-profit that takes in cats and dogs from Animal Car and Control. The ACC will collect pets, but the pets only have three days to find homes or else they will be euthanized, so many no-kill shelters take in the pets to give them a chance. However, donations to NYCA have not been strong as they take in more pets and need to board them (in April, their expenses were $3000 and they received one $25 donation). So, go to the NYCA website and make a donation. Or help by adopt fostering a pet until they find a permanent home. Yes, you really can do it!

Would be a really fun job at times, and also depressing at times to save those poor animals.
