Five Boro Bike Tour Today!

The awesome The Five Boro Bike Tour is going on today. Riders started in Manhattan this morning, they'll briefly head into the Bronx (and then back into Manhattan), ride through Queens and Brooklyn, and end in Staten Island, for a ride back to Manhattan on the Staten Island Ferry. Cheer the riders on when you see them!

Here's the map of the route. And if you're inspired to go for a bike ride today, here's the city's Cycling Map.

  • I'd have done it this year but it is too damn early in the morning and the Fort Greene house tour which let you go up in to the Williamsburgh Savings Bank tower was today - most likely the last time. Plus I am deathly afraid of the V-N.

  • It was a good Tour this year, the best in 3 years, the primary reason being that riders didn't have to wait 3 hours for the ferry back into Manhattan, as in past years. Plus, there wasn't too much congestion throughout the ride, and less shortbraking numbskulls.

The New York Bike Tour is great. It's the only time where eveyone looks like a homosexual in their tight spandex outfits and funny hats.

  • Saw 'em on the Gowanus. Looked great, endless series of bikers perspected against the warehouses and waterfront. (Down one block, they had the Statue of Liberty, waving 'em on.)

Don't know how many participated but it must have been an awful lot, 'cause the parade of bikers was endless.
