Holy 1980s fun! Prepare to have your mind blown: "Steve Guttenberg, Olympic skater/plastic-surgery victim Bruce Jenner and The Village People star in box office bomb/career tanker/b-movie & movie musical favorite Can't Stop The Music. In this opening scene, Guttenberg, wearing white bellbottoms, rollerskates and sashays around the streets of NYC gleefully lip-syncing to a funky Village People beat. Watch closely for Village People cameos in this clip!"

Who holds back the electric car?
Who made Steve Guttenberg a star?
Um, Jake, Jenner was in the Olympics and he was in Skating with the Stars, but he wasn't an Olympic skater. Wrong sport, wrong season. He was a decathlete, the gold medalist in 1976, the same year Dorothy Hamill made her mark in the winter Olympics and Nadia Comaneci got the first 10s in Olympic gymnastics history. I realize it's a little before your time, but a little research beforehand doesn't hurt.
Wow, everything really is bigger in the 80s! The hair, the shoulder pads, and apparently Stevie G's package! I couldn't help wondering if that was a cup, padding or the real thing...surely, it can't be real.
Funny, I thought Bruce Jenner made his acting debut on "CHiPs", but apparently this was.
Part of me was just astonished by the cheese factor while the other part of me was trying to figure out the locations in the sequence. Sadly, given this limited sample one can see that this looks like the high point of Steve Guttenberg's career until he did the guest star arc on Veronica Mars.
And the movie was directed by Nancy Walker who was sort of the Estelle Getty of the 70s. I knew she did other stuff after playing Rhoda's mom, but wow!
