- Our friends at Curbed give us a bit of news about the new Fairway in Red Hook -- it's slated to open on May 17th.
- For the extremely lazy dieters out there: If you're on a mission to shed some pounds and can't be bothered to jot everything down in a food diary (an incredibly sobering experience, for the record), you can now phone it in. Sprint has launched MyFoodPhone, a food journaling application that allows users to photograph their meals using their cameraphones and send them off for nutritional analysis for a mere $9.99 per month. The service also includes a web-based application they can access through their phones to track weight, and exercise. [via Slashfood]
- East Village Roast Beef sandwich afficianados mourn the loss of Roll-n-Roaster. They've been instructed to head out to Sheepshead Bay (not likely). [Evil Discussor via Gothamist Contribute
- A Hamburger Today brings us the word on this weekend's Burger Club outing to DuMont. A word of warning -- we thought their burger was too dry.
- Famous Fat Dave (a.k.a. "The Hungry Cabbie") is a New York City cab driver who loves the food that the city has to offer. Not only does he have a blog about his eating adventures, but he can be hired out to take you on private eating tours (which have great names -- we're particularly fond of the "Junk in the Trunk" package, which consists of 9 to 12 neighborhoods and 16 to 20 tastes).
Got a tidbit for us? Let us know!

It's been hit or miss for me with the burger at the original DuMont location. They're inconsistent with the doneness. Seems like every other burger I get there is too dry.
MyFoodPhone- that's insane. You mean there's some little cave somewhere with lots of computer monkeys, looking at pictures of food all day long to analyze their nutritional content? What a lousy job.
