Police Arrest Third Grader For Groping School Worker

Yes, a third grader! WABC 7 reports that a 10 year-old student was arrested - and handcuffed - yesterday after an incident at P.S. 116 in Bushwick. Per WABC: "...the female custodial worker reported that she felt the child rubbing his privates against her in the cafeteria, allegedly squeezing against her buttocks as she was emptying the trash." And apparently the NYPD is allowed to handcuff minors, no matter how young 10 years old may be, for "unwanted touching." This story is so crazy but it also doesn't seem that uncommon (though the unwanted touching may be among students) as children do seem to develop faster (hormones in foods?) and they are constantly shown how being an adult (TV, movies, video games) is glamorous. The student has been suspended for three days while the school investigates the matter.

Seeing as how your average 3rd grader is 8-9 years old, not 10, was there something else going on here?

I remember back in fourth grade, more than 20 years ago, we had this really nasty kid who constantly bullied and teased the girls in class, saying really nasty sexual stuff. Then one day in class he suddenly whipped out his privates and stuck it right in a girl's face, in front of the teacher. All the teach did was yelled at him to put it back in his pants.
Guess public school behavior hasn't changed since.

One Word: Bushwick

Sucks to say, but apple's never fall far from the tree.

This story is sad but there's an underlying problem here no one's addressed: where did this kid learn this behavior? Is he being molested?

Children who have been sexually abused tend to act out in this way when they're very young.

I blame rap music.
The Hispanics in my JHS did this to an Asian girl who developed early, they cornered her in a stairway.
Wait, there was no rap music back then?
Things that make you go hmmm?

NO, he was not molested at home.
This is the way they act out. They can't control their feelings. It's disgusting.
Here's a tip, don't send your kids to public school.
Sure there are good ones but they are few and far between. Hate to say it, but it's the colored boys that do this, brown and black.
No matter how hard the single mom tries, they slowly slip into animal behavior. I've seen mom's try and try but to no avail.
Must be some gene they have. Sorry, to be so blunt but when you see this, one has to tell it like it is.

"I blame rape music." [you're a fool] you may as well blame the weatherman for rain. this beahvior is a direct result of no parenting. The parents or guardian should be held directly responsible for this.

If a child under the age of 18 is unruly or violent it's not uncommon for the police to handcuff them to keep them from hurting themselves or others. the news makes it seem like it's inhumane and against all police rules. there's not one police department in this country that would not dp this, if necessary.

Umm, edhex
Did you read the rest of the guy's post?
You must be a product of the NYC public school system.

"You must be a product of the NYC public school system." another foolish comment.

Thank God. As an adult male it's really harrowing to be around little kids cause they are always trying to molest me. correction, they are always trying to hit my crotch. I don't think it's sexual in nature but more like accidental. It's like they are at the perfect height where their arms and heads are at the same height as your crotch and they run around and shit and then always hit you near your gonadal area. That's why I'm afraid of kids. I always think they are going to hit or bite my crotch. what do they call the fear of kids biting your crotch anyway?

I blame the whole event on blacks and hispanics. White people never do that because they all go to private schools.

Stop it with the racial crap, you're not making yourself sound any smarter than you are.

if more kids listened to radiohead instead of that hip hop shit, stuff like this wouldn't happen. when i was in 3rd grade i was playing with transformers and playing ice hockey.

by the way, the nyc public school isn't that bad, well at least mine wasn't. they churned out a college student some how that now attends iu and will do awful on his finals tomorrw.

To the guy who said that it "maybe in the genes"? Please, this statement just shows your an idiot!

It's most likely due to external factors, such as the environment they are in and other socio-cultural aspects as well.

And stop with the racist remarks and the extrapolated generalizations.
