I was at the auction last night and it was really incredible to see this guy outbidding all the typical art world bidders. Anyone else find it slightly rude the way the Times commented on his paddle usage? "...evidenced by the relentless and unsophisticated manner..." Unsophisticated because wasn't from the UES and wearing loafers?! The guy was doing his best to buy an $85 MILLION piece...a little flailing doesn't hurt anyone!!

I wonder if he'll reveal his identity. I suspect he was acting on behalf of someone, too.

Why did the painting go for such a high price? Beacuse HE'S PICASSO!!!!!! It would be nice to see this in a museum... instead of someone just putting it over the couch.

Let's hear it for the new guy! Woo hoo! I love how they seated him in Siberia and now he's no doubt their favorite person on the planet. I hope they are duly fawning over him to make up for the snub. Just goes to show, you never know who you're looking at until you get to know them.
